A Study on Responsive Characteristics of the Mother-and-Child Drawings to the Level of Peer Relationship

|
This study is to find responsive characteristics of mother-and-child drawings according to adolescents peer relationships. The purpose of this study is to explore the possibility of mother-and-child drawings as indicators of adolescents peer relationships. For this purpose, 300 friends of adolescents in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Chungcheong Province conducted Friendship Perception Scale(FFIYC) to identify the level of Friendship and peer relations. For the data analysis, the score and the subgroup were expressed as frequency and percentage, and the crossover analysis was performed for the differences in the attributes of the episodes according to the factors. The results of this study are as follows. First, the response characteristics of mother-and-child drawings in accordance with the peer relationship level of adolescents showed a significant difference in the mother type, size of mother, etc. Post Drawing Inquiry(PDI) showed significant differences in child age, mother-and-child behavior. Second, the characteristics of mother-and-child drawings response according to positive sub-factors of peer relationship are mother shape, mother-and-child expression, etc. The Post Drawing Inquiry(PDI) response characteristics showed the child age, mother-and-child behavior, etc. Third, the characteristics of mother-and-child drawings response according to negative sub-factors of peer relationship are number of mother face expression, child size, etc. The Post Drawing Inquiry(PDI) response characteristics showed the child age, etc. In conclusion, it can be suggested that the mother-and-child drawings can be used as a tool to grasp the degree of peer relations in adolescents.
